Activities like exercising, praying, writing, reading, or cooking our favorite meals may seem like hobbies, but they are so much more. They gradually build our self-confidence and self-esteem. Even small achievements—such as exercising for 15 minutes, writing a blog post, reading a page from a beloved book, or preparing and savoring a favorite dish—send a powerful message to our brain: We can accomplish anything we set our minds to.
